Dallas Area Rapid Transit East End Bus Transfer Station Concept and aesthetic elements were designed by Frances Bagley in conjunction with LAN Engineering and Aguirre and Associates architects. The idea is to reference the ancient history of North Texas and to help with way-finding at the bus station. In the main facility an inverted brass pyramid hangs over a tile inlaid compass rose in the floor. Etched onto the glass ring around the pyramid are fossil images found in the area. All the fossil images are then sandblasted into limestone embeds in the walkways leading to that particular bus shelter. At each shelter the designated fossil reapperas in the glass of the windscreen.
